About Shotts, Merryman & Company P.C.

Shotts, Merryman & Company P.C. was founded in June 1982 by William E. Shotts, CPA, with an office in Pittsfield, Illinois serving clients throughout Illinois and Missouri. In 1988, Angie Merryman Estes, CPA, joined the firm and became a partner in 1994. Christopher J. Shotts, CPA, joined the firm in 1997 and became a partner in 2003.

In 2011, the firm expanded to Colorado with the opening of its Estes Park office. William E. Shotts relocated to Estes Park in 2013, followed by Christopher J. Shotts in 2014, expanding the location into a full-service accounting and tax practice. Wendy Tang, Enrolled Agent, joined the firm in 2020.

Today, the firm continues to grow and is supported by a dedicated team, including Faith Bojan (Colorado Office Manager), Kristin Brown (Payroll Specialist and Illinois Office Manager), and Edgar (Colorado Office Front Desk), ensuring consistent, high-quality service for clients across the country.

Certified Public Accountant, Senior Partner

William E. Shotts is Senior Partner at Shotts, Merryman & Company P.C. He was born and raised in Illinois, and graduated Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, IL. He opened the practice in June 1982, and expanded the firm to Estes Park, Colorado in 2011.

He moved to Colorado in June 2013, and currently works at the Colorado office.

He has three wonderful children, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Angie Merryman Estes

Certified Public Accountant, Partner

Angie graduated from Western Illinois University in May of 1988 with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting. In September 1988, she began employment with William E. Shotts and became a partner in the Firm in January of 1994.

Angie is a lifelong resident of Illinois and runs the Illinois office. She enjoys the personal relationships with clients and feels blessed to be able to serve them.

She is married to the love of her life and has 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren.

Christopher J. Shotts

Certified Public Accountant, Partner

Chris is a Certified Public Accountant originally from Illinois. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in May of 1995 with BS in Accounting. Chris began his employment with Shotts, Merryman & Company P.C. in January of 1997.

Then in 2003, he became a partner in the firm. He and his wife, Anita and children, Kadynce and Creed, moved to Estes Park in August of 2014 to help expand the Estes Park tax practice into a full-service accounting office.

Wendy Tang

Enrolled Agent

Wendy Tang is an Enrolled Agent originally from China who lived in Germany before moving to Arkansas. She graduated from Hendrix College with a Bachelor degree in Business and Economics and Minor in International Business in 2017. She then moved to Estes Park in 2019 with her husband Zach and two daughters, and joined Shotts Merryman and Company in May of 2020.

Colorado Office Manager

Faith has been with the firm since February 2016, when she and her family moved to Estes for her husband’s career. They quickly fell in love with the small town Colorado life, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the mountains, and Estes became “home.”

She has two adult children who are both EPHS graduates, and has been enjoying her new role as “Nana”.

Since joining the firm, she has held several roles, the current being “Office Manager.” Faith enjoys building lasting relationships with our clients while meeting their tax and accounting needs!

Kristin Brown

Payroll Specialist & Illinois Office Manager

Kristin is a graduate from Quincy University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in BusinessAdministration. She started working for Shotts, Merryman & Company in November 2016.

She has one daughter. She is the payroll specialist for both the Illinois and Colorado offices and is office manager of the Illinois office.

Colorado Office Front Desk

Edgar is the friendly face at the front desk who keeps things running smoothly. He has lived in Estes Park since 2006 and graduated from EPHS in 2015. Since then, he has enjoyed working in the customer service industry for several local establishments.

He has a strong background in computer hardware and software, and is always happy to help solve tech-related challenges. Outside of work, he is passionate about EDM music and enjoys DJing and computer gaming in his free time.
